Summertime means out and about in the beautiful weather, beach time, festivals, live music, entertaining out-of-town guests, and making memories. Listed below are just a few of the events our coastal beautiful town has to offer!


Free Family Golf Day - 6/2/18 12:00 p.m.

On Saturday, June 2nd come play a free round of golf with your family at Sandpiper Bay, carts included! Kids and young adults from ages 5 to 17 years old are welcome to join us for 9 holes with your parents or grandparents. You are asked to please limit to one foursome per family.

Clinic starts at 12:00 p.m. and a 9 Hole Play starting at 1:00 pm, first come first play basis.

First Tee of Coastal Carolinas Bake Sale Fundraiser in Piper’s Restaurant from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Sign up by calling 910 579-9120.

Farmer’s Market - 5/29/18 thru 11/11/18, 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Sunset Beach’s farmer’s market supporting local farmers and producers. This event is a rain or shine event and is open to the public! With free admission every Thursday from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. located at Sunset Beach Town Park, 206 Sunset Boulevard. The farmer’s market goes from May through October.

Fourth of July Parade at the Old Bridge - 7/4/18 9:00 a.m.

Shouldn’t every holiday start with a parade?! We think so! Starting at 9:00 a.m., members of the Old Bridge Preservation Society have put together patriotic festivities for the town of Sunset Beach. The parade will go over the Old Bridge, along with music, games, activities and free refreshments. Flags will be waved at the Old Bridge Museum located at 109 Shoreline Drive W, Sunset Beach.  This event’s progress will be dependent on weather. Weekly Tour Walk to Bird Island 6/6/18 thru 8/29/18, 8:30 a.m.

Come be a part of guided educational walks to Sunset Beach’s Bird Island and Kindred Spirit Mailbox. This event is hosted over the summer by the Bird Island Preservation Society Stewards. The walks begin at 40th Street & Main Street boardwalk. These 2.5-hour guided walks are every Wednesday from June through August beginning at 8:30 a.m. Be sure to bring bottled water and sunscreen! For more information please visit http://www.nccoastalreserve.net/web/crp/bird-island

 

Sunset Beach Paddle Fest 9/15/18, Time TBD

Get your paddleboards and kayaks ready for this year’s Sunset Beach Paddle Fest – the only competitive paddle even on the coast of North Carolina! In years past, this competition has included an elite 9.5-mile course, 5.5-mile open course, and a 1.9-mile fun paddle. Join us for crafts and vendors, great food, live music, and free admission! The festival is held on by the Intracoastal Waterway at Sunset Beach, NC. Exact launch location TBA. For more information as its updated this Summer, please visit www.sunsetbeachpaddlefest.com.

The Sunset Beach Paddle Fest is hosted and operated by the Sunset Beach Business and Merchants Association and its volunteers. The SBBMA is a 501(c)3 non-profit private organization that supports the town and businesses of Sunset Beach.

10th Annual Sunset at Sunset 10/6/18, Time TBD

Summertime means block party time! Sunset at Sunset is Sunset Beach’s community block party with more than 100 vendors, crafters, food-vendors along with non-profit organizations to celebrate the day's events. Along with worthy band entertainment, there will also be a 5k walk/run over the Mannon C. Gore Bridge and a photography contest.  For more information go to www.sunsetatsunset.com

 

37th Annual NC Oyster Festival: OIB, NC 10/20-10/21/18

With food ranging from oysters to BBQ and pizza to desserts, you will not be lacking in treats to try. Specialty beverages to accompany your choices abound. Enjoy a lineup of great beach music bands, as well as arts& crafts. This festival has something for everyone! The festival will be held rain or shine.
